Teens as advocates for change and challenge
For the first time in Australia, there is an exciting opportunity for teenagers (13-17 years) to develop their skills and participate in advocacy for children in need by forming Teen Variety.
Variety is challenging teenagers with a sense of compassion, enthusiasm and commitment to form a group of volunteers and play a vital and rewarding role in this new venture to help children in need in an Australian contest. The Teen Variety venture is a direct result of the charities outstanding support in Australia, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers here.
What's Involved?
A small group of students (around 12) will be selected to form the inaugural Board of Teen Variety.
Variety NSW is negotiating with local independent schools that already participated in community programs and projects, and interviewing students who are willing to commit their time, energy and enthusiasm to this project.
The skills learned during the process will be invaluable to both future career prospects and a personal challenge! But most importantly, the process will be fun and conducted in a supportive environment that encourages members to develop their own interests and abilities.
