Please help us raise the $36,000 we need to provide 20 children with much needed equipment.
By donating today your help will make a brighter future for child who has special needs, just like Reeve or Katie.
Reeve is a beautiful and loving four-year-old with Autism Spectrum Disorder. While he does not speak yet, he has clearly wanted to talk and connect more with his family, friends and other children. Supported by people like you, Variety provided Reeve with an Assistance Dog he named Buster.
This adorable new addition to the family is much more than a pet. Buster is highly trained to help children like Reeve develop social skills and establish routines that children with Autism often find challenging. Buster brightens Reeve’s day by building confidence and independence. His mother Dimity has been extremely grateful to see her cute little boy’s life change dramatically.
“With the help of the Assistance Dog, Reeve now spends more time with the family, enjoying picnics together for the first time and being able to confidently play with friends. We are eternally grateful for all that Variety and their supporters have done for us. It has made a huge difference to Reeve and to our family,” said Reeve’s Mum, Dimity.

Eleven-year-old Katie has also gratefully received Variety’s help. Katie loves to socialise with friends and go on family outings, but with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, she struggles with everyday activities others may take for granted like talking, eating and moving around.
Katie and her family were thrilled when she was given newfound freedom and mobility after Variety funded a new motorised scooter, specially equipped for her needs. Her mother Karen was so overjoyed, she wrote this heartfelt note to Variety the day after Katie received the scooter.
“I cried today when I saw Katie go to school and move around by herself for the first time. She cannot stop smiling. She loves being independent and not having to rely on others to get around the school or play with friends. It’s incredible to see her so happy. Thank you to Variety and everyone who funds their work – from the bottom of our hearts,” said Katie’s Mum, Karen.
