2011 Variety Annual Themed Ball

Variety's Night in Paris

Adelaide’s premiere Winter event was held on Friday night 3rd June and themed Variety's Night in Paris. This year marked the 10 year anniversary of this annual ball with a record attendance of 1,576 guests and an amazing $215,000 net raised.

The Adelaide Convention Centre looked like it had literally been transported to Paris and all who attended made a huge effort to look Parisian!   Guests were treated to a star studded line up of entertainment with the Lisa Edwards Band, (flying in on Friday night especially for the event), unusualist Raymond Crowe, Motown Connection and more.

One generous group purchased at the auction, a luxury Mediterranean Cruise for 8 people on a private yacht, for an astonishing $60,000.  We thank Gordon Pickard for his amazingly generous donation and the bidders for their contribution to enrich the lives of South Australian children.

The event Chair, Peter Curtis said he and his committee were thrilled by the event’s success, this year raising $215,000 net and taking the total raised over the past decade to in excess of $1.5million net.

This event would not be possible without the generous support of Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive Alec Gilbert and his team, who was recognized with a presentation on the night.
