Ladies of Variety (LOV) are a group of professional Adelaide women dedicating their time and resources in assisting to make the lives of children in need that little bit brighter.
LOV was formed in December 2005 and is charged with creating events and outings for disabled and disadvantaged children up to the age of 18.
The LOV committee meets once a month to plan new and exciting events and outings for the children of SA. Thanks to all those involved, sponsors and volunteers, LOV continue to bring a smile to the face of children in need.

So far this year we have touched the lives of over 25,000 children & carers through our activities, parties and tickets. One of the most popular activities is the monthly Chelsea Movie Day – this year we have screened “Gulliver’s Travels”, “Tangled” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” (amongst others)to a full house each time. Our next movie at the end of July is “Cars 2” is eagerly anticipated.
Of course our biggest events for the year are our Easter Picnic at Carrick Hill, and the Christmas Party at Adelaide Showgrounds. Some of us have only just recovered from the Easter Picnic! We had our fingers crossed for beautiful weather for our Easter Picnic – and we were lucky once again. It was a great day for everyone involved; the children love the amazing range of activities available – facepainters, pony rides, merry-go-rounds, jumping castles, sack races, dancing along with Theatre Bugs to name but a few.
In 2011 we stretched our horizons by adding a third signature event to our program: “LOV a Surprise Party” at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Monday 1 August. The ACC was thrilled to be host this event and "bent over backwards” to make it an exciting and memorable day for the kids.
It won’t be long until we are asking you to volunteer for the Christmas Party too!!
