4. Sparkling diamonds

Sparkling Diamonds is a netball club providing opportunities for refugee children, youth at risk and those who are disadvantaged. The club formed to allow children and youth at risk to take part in netball and become part of a community club at no cost. In addition to netball, Sparkling Diamonds offers camps, life skills programs and homework clubs to school aged children.

The organisation offers young people the opportunity to interact with other children their age, make new friends and gain confidence and participate in activities that they wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to be a part of in a safe and fun environment. It also encourages positive involvement for these children in the community.

Sparkling Diamonds requested a 12 seater Sunshine Coach to provide transport to the children who they support. For many of the kids in the netball team distance from home proved to be difficult and there were not enough volunteers to drive them in private cars, therefore they would miss out on participating.

We transport girls from all over Adelaide in order to train and to play netball. Without your generosity a number of young at risk and refugee girls would be unable to take part in sport.

There are no words that can express our gratitude for making life so much easier in transporting young players. Not only have we been able to keep our existing numbers but have now actually been able to accept more young people into our Club.
