APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2011
Variety SA makes available approximately $50,000 annually for children who are sick, disadvantaged or disabled and are aged 18 years and younger. Scholarship funding is specifically provided to assist children in fulfilling their talents and achieving their life goals and is divided into four categories - music, arts, sport or education. Applications open in November each year and close one month later in December of each year.
The Show of Hearts Scholarship committee consists of a group of industry professionals from the four categories. The committee, under the guidance of chair Deborah Miller, considers each scholarship application in December/January each year. For those recipients who are successful, Variety also assigns specific mentors to each to ensure these children receive all the advice, encouragement and inspiration possible to help them on their way.
