Variety Caring for Kids Program
Providing essential medical and health equipment to care for kids at home, in the community and in hospital.
The Variety caring for kids program helps parents care for their seriously ill children at home with nebulisers, insulin pumps, electric hospital beds and more.
We also work in conjunction with regional hospitals and other children’s organisations to fund major projects like the Variety Children’s Rehabilitation Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital which treats more than 1,000 special needs kids a year.
Past grants include:
- $130,000 to the Speech & Hearing Centre for the Variety Ear Bus program, which visits schools to screen and treat chronic ear disease in indigenous children
- $600,000 to fund the refurbishment of the Variety Children’s Rehabilitation Centre at PMH, bringing physiotherapy, occupational therapy and services under one road for families to access
- $100,000 to Bunbury Hospital to fund a paediatric emergency room in the ED
- $150,000 to Peel Health Campus to fund two, double bed rooms in the children’s ward
Variety pays for the purchase of equipment, ensuring that one hundred percent of every dollar we provide goes where it is most needed.
