Jason Bourke

Head of Regional Development

2016

Jason joined Variety as Head of Regional Development in February 2016. Prior to joining the team Jason spent 10 years as the Executive Officer of the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic foundations in regional Australia. During this time Jason oversaw the assessment and delivery of more than $15 million in grant funding for than 350 community projects across regional NSW.

Prior to this Jason worked in a range of business development and corporate partnership roles in both the local government and commercial sectors and is committed to helping Variety grow its profile and fundraising capacity in regional areas of NSW and the ACT to ensure we support more kids in need in the future.

Jason recently took on responsibility for inclusive play and the roll-out of Variety Livvi’s Places across Australia. Jason’s previous experience in local government and philanthropy provides a good background for him to drive advocacy and collaboration with government and industry around inclusive play.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Social Science (University of Newcastle) and a Masters of Business Administration (Charles Sturt University) and is a parent to two healthy and happy kids. Away from work Jason loves spending time with his family, playing golf, supporting the mighty Parramatta Eels, paddle boarding and a glass of good red wine!
