Variety’s new financial counselling program is here to help

A new financial counselling program to support Australian families with kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability, has been launched by Variety – the Children’s Charity. Raising a child with a disability or illness can be expensive and cause financial strain for families due to high medical costs, specialised education needs or restricted income due to caring responsibilities.

This program is now available through Variety and is designed to help families experiencing financial stress or hardship.  We can assist with managing debt, managing household budgets, negotiating with creditors, providing Centrelink guidance, accessing utility grants and helping you to understand your financial rights and responsibilities.  We can advocate on your behalf and can refer you to the right service to access legal advice and dispute resolution.

Financial Counsellors are qualified professionals who provide their services for free.  They are independent, non-judgmental and confidential.

Families of children with a disability or illness up to 17 years of age needing this support, please call one of our financial counsellors on 1300 012 164 to access this free service.

Variety Financial Counselling has been made possible due to the generous support of the AMP Foundation.

The AMP Foundation is one of Australia’s largest independently funded corporate foundations. Since 1992, it has provided more than $105 million to help organisations and individuals build financial security and create positive change in the community.
