Day 10

Byron Bay to Gold Coast

And that’s a wrap! What a phenomenal 10 days it’s been, travelling across Queensland and into New South Wales, raising much needed funds to help Aussie kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability.

A huge shout out to Presenting Sponsor, Blue Dog Training, as well as all event sponsors Get Tools Direct, MM Electrical, Mackay Regional Council, Rockhampton Regional Council, and Seeley International.

First up on the day’s adventure was a stop into The Pocket Public School, a roughly 30 minute drive north of Byron Bay. Everyone loved it so much, we were a little late leaving but glad to have spent time with this beautiful community.

Then last but most certainly not least, was a visit to Palm Beach School where  over 600 students gathered on the oval during their lunch break to meet the vibrant characters and get a close-up look at their crazily-themed cars. This was our biggest school stop of the journey and was a humbling site for bashers to see 600 kids waving Variety flags and calling out the car names!

The atmosphere amongst the Bashers was electric as they crossed the finish line and celebrated their monumental achievement – 10 days, over 3,500kms, 24 schools, more than 2748 smiling kids and countless memories that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations Bashers – you did it! On behalf of the kids and families, a massive THANK YOU for your commitment to giving ALL Aussie kids a fair go!
