In 2020 Variety Northern Territory provided a grant to the Junior Police Rangers to assist a child in need to complete their programme – an opportunity that would help shape Owens future.
Thanks to this support, Owen Thompson graduated from Junior Police Rangers in December 2022 with Group 35. Owen completed the three-year leadership program – developing a wide range of personal and life skills that have had a lasting impact.
Today, Owen is applying those skills to his passion for football, stepping confidently into a leadership role within his team.
Through the JPR program, Owen has come to understand the importance of making positive choices and sound decisions—and he’s now looking ahead with excitement to the adventures that lie ahead.
