Variety Tasmania invites you to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens for an exquisite gin tasting experience, whilst supporting Tasmanian children in need.

A Variety of Gins is a guided, progressive gin tasting experience. Tantalise your taste buds with 3 different gin cocktails and an array of delicious canapés crafted by Succulent with fresh Tasmanian produce, including delicious tomatoes from TNG&T, and ingredients picked straight out of the Community Garden at the RTBG.

Meet us at the Conservatory for your welcome drink and then wander with us to the Community Garden to experience your first gin cocktail from Spring Bay Distillery. The distinctive flavours of Spring Bay Distillery Gins are due to the soft sweet Tasmanian water, influenced by the sea mists from Spring Bay and fresh Tasmanian rainwater, used in the distilling process.

From there we will meander up to the Chinese Gardens for a McHenry Distillery Sloe Gin cocktail, made with Sloe berries foraged from the hedge rows around Tasmania. In the Chinese gardens our guests will be enlightened by a traditional Holy Lion Dance, representing bravery and righteousness as well as amiability, performed by the Tasmanian Chinese Buddhist Academy of Australia.

Then it is onto the picturesque Lily Pond, where visitors can watch the ducklings scoot over the water lilies, be entertained by the Australian Army Band and enjoy a pink summer cocktail by Forty Spotted Gin. This is a gin for the inquisitive and creative at heart, designed to excite the curious drinker. Clean, fresh and excitingly complex, Forty Spotted uses local pepperberry as a key botanical.

There’ll be exciting raffle prizes and auction items on the night from our generous partners, including Experience Tasmania Tours and Charters, Forty Spotted Gins, Old Kempton Distillery and Savoy Day Spa.

All proceeds of the evening will help Tasmanian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have additional needs.

The dress code is “Garden Party”, and as this is a non-seated event, please be prepared to walk short distances through the garden.
