Vehicle: Ford Fairlane ZG 1975 302V8 Auto
Car 041 was purchased by Ian Lister and Rowdy Bellinger in 2012 from Waikerie where it had been sitting idle in a shed for 5 years. The previous 2 years we had been in the Bash in Car 777 with Colin Hann.
The vehicle, when purchased was Bash ready, with roll bars and full underbody protection as required by Bash rules.
Over the years we have replaced the diff, had the heads and timing gear overhauled and a new auto choke carby fitted. New back springs and front coils were fitted this year. As owners of the car we are responsible for registration and insurance, all maintenance, fuel and running costs. This will be the cars 6th year and hopefully we will have no major mechanical problems.
All vehicle participants have a theme and we dress as Sailors.
The Team consists of ‘Squeak ‘ Lister, ‘Rowdy’ Bellinger, ‘Uncle Reg’ Hamilton and Mike Coonan. To make our Bash possible we draw on sponsors from Beachport, Millicent and surrounding areas. To top up our bank balance we cut and supply firewood to many happy people.
