The ratbags of Katherine are back to entertain us on their way through the Bash! Team Numbskulls….They’ll be bringing a Ford “of some sort”, just have to pick which one….

What is your Bash Team Name, Captain & Car Number?

Numb Skulls, Peter Gazey is the captain, if we need one. He is concerned about being named Captain as this means he should take some sort of responsibility. Car number is easy, 0850, postcode of Katherine NT, home of the Numb Skulls.

Tell us about your Bash Car and how you came to have it?

Do we have to supply our own Car? Oh that makes it interesting. Well let’s say without any guarantee that we are going to use a car that has previously Bashed but not by us. This car was born in 1960 and is one of the first Falcons. It is an XK Falcon 1960. Yes I hear the purists say “Why Bash a XK? Why not? Is my response! I have it because I bought it in 2012 when I got involved in Variety NT, the same day we bought the RSES Mercedes ( yes you all know the low down RSES from the last six bashes ). So, it has sat here waiting to show it’s stuff and this year is it’s year. I hear you say “Why this year?” And I say Because I can! ( and the Merc has not had any mechanical intervention since returning from Knots Crossing last year!) How did I come to have it, a friend of a friend,that is a friend had a sister in law, ex or not at that time I don’t know, that bashed the car with the future Major of Roper Gulf, now the Current Major of Roper Gulf. Someone fell out with someone and someone needed somewhere for the car and then when I was looking for a car the friend, my friend, of the friend, my friend aswell said he would sell me the car if I wanted it. So I bought it, lucky me. But on the same day a friend who is a friend and has been an Rse, as in singular of an RSES bid on a Merc.

Tell us about your team members

There are three of us. A Butcher a Baker and a Candlestick maker, or maybe not. Perhaps it’s best if you just talk with us on the Bash and make up your own mind?

Tell us about your first Bash. What year was it? Where did it go to? How did you come across it and decide to join?

Too hard as we have three different stories with three different reasons, so I will give a condensed version. Not this year, the finish, our Team Captain roped us in and now we are hooked!

How many NT Bashes have you and your team mates each completed?

I’ve completed 9, and Ron’s done 3 ( supported 6), Ian and Phil are no longer Virgins

What do you love about the Variety NT Bash, what makes you keep returning to the Bash?

I didn’t realise we had an option to stop attending!

What is your Team story/history?

Our team story is “Wasn’t me!”

How did you pick your team name and theme?

Looked at the car and went “Yep That’ll do”
