The Boys in Blue

Greg Fisher makes his triumphant return to the Bash in 2017 after a few years off.

When the opportunity to buy back his Commodore with the Police theme presented itself, he bought it and recruited two rookies – Darren Maher & Mark Lavery.

“Doing the Bash and raising money for kids is a great and rewarding experience, and one I would recommend to anyone,” Greg says. “This year’s trip to Fraser Island will not doubt shape up to previous memorable Bashes and I am looking forward to the trip.”

When Greg’s original partner in crime Steve Donnellon purchased the car on eBay it had belonged to a Police Officer, so they kept the theming and ran with it!

Ahh, memories...

Greg has a lot of memories of previous Bash trips, but there’s no doubt the Gipp River Road into Broome and the National bash gathering in Alice Springs are two that really stand out for him

Meet the rookies

Darren Maher and Mark Lavery are joining Greg on the 2017 Bash. Darren is a senior executive with IAG (CGU) and was able to secure CGU as a great sponsor along with many other generous donors. Mark runs a business in NSW called “Mark’s Spray Barn”. Charity events are not new to Mark as he is very involved with organising the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners in NSW/Qld.

A bit of back story...

Greg became involved with the bash through Steve Donnellon – a Basher, current board member and Bash photographer. Steve recruited Greg to assist him in raising funds, and the experience for Greg has been very rewarding to see kids receiving and enjoying the assistance that Variety offers.
