Sesame Street are Back!
Our crew are a group of like minded friends who along with our wives and families have become involved with Variety Victoria so that we can make a difference to children who need a little extra support to enable them to achieve the important things in their lives. The pleasure for us is to see the pleasure on the faces of so many children not only as we travel through outback Australia on the Variety Bash but also much closer to home with local Grants to individuals and organisations in need of support and also our involvement in other Variety activities. Many family, friends and colleagues have supported us over the last ten years and we hope you can again assist our fundraising endeavours so that we can collectively make a difference and dedicate some of our time to “helping kids be kids”.
We have once again entered the Bash with the same crew. Ken Pryor is Elmo, John Cowley is Cookie Monster, Ross Taylor is Big Bird, Ray Psaila is Ernie and Glenn Porter is Count von Count.
We are driven as a crew to be involved with as many schools and communities as we can along the Bash route and we make it our mission to find every possible kinder, school or community gathering we can whether on the Bash route or nearby. It is not in the Sesame Street Charter to pass a child without stopping to say hello and hand out whatever goodies we have on board.
The families of all our crew are now grown up and we have all been extremely lucky in that our children have never experienced some of the medical and financial issues confronting so many people in their day to day lives. The stress and strain faced by many families has, thankfully, not impacted our lives or the lives of our children and we have all made a conscious decision to bring together as many people as we can and to create a conduit by which our valued supporters can assist us with fundraising for Variety Victoria and positively impact the lives of as many children as we can.
