The Good Doctors

Way back in 2013, two insolvency accountants, whose entire knowledge of cars you could write on a scrap of toilet paper, decided that it would be a good idea to buy a car and compete in the Variety Vic Bash.

First thing on the agenda was to buy the car – Variety’s web page extolled the virtue of a proven Bash car so we purchased one for a modest sum. It was a 1966 VC Chrysler Ambulance, which is now affectionately known as ‘The Beast”.

The accountants: Mat (Dr Mat) Muldoon and Geoff (Dr Geoff) Handberg were joined by a retired banker, Mark (Dr Chopper) Reid for their first Bash. They called themselves the Corporate Doctors.

Many Bashes later the team and the car are still together. And boy what a ride it has been.

When you’re mixing with like-minded people and going to fun places that you’ve never been to before – there is never a dull moment. And the best thing is that you’re helping kids who need a helping hand in life. It gives you a great deal of satisfaction.

So come on, join in! Or if you can’t, how about a donation?

Why the 'Corporate Doctors' theme?

It’s simple really. When you put a team of people involved with reviving failing businesses in an Ambulance, it all suddenly makes sense!

They do admit that the moniker is not fully understood by a lot of the entrants and they are generally referred to as the “Doctors’ – which they are more than happy with!

Did you know...

The ambulance the doctors drive is one of only 3 ever imported into Australia!

These guys love their wine!

The ‘Corporate Doctors” decision to enter the 2013 Variety Vic Bash was consummated with a fine red.
