Phil (Molly) Mollison clocks up 15 bashes this year, and his partner in crime Big John Houghton will reach Bash number 10.

This crew have covered approximately 150,000 kms on their travels with the Bash, seeing almost every corner of Australia. Molly and John love experiencing all the places that they never even imagined could exist, at the same time supporting a very worthwhile charity.

These two keep their theme simple but this soon disappears when Big John ‘The Piper’ starts to entertain all and sundry with his musical octopus (aka bagpipes).

One of the highlights for the crew of car 444 has been the expression on peoples faces when they’re confronted with Big John – the Bagpipe King – unfurling himself from their little yellow Cortina in his kilt and starting to blast away on his bagpipes.

Molly and John have both made life long fiends through their participation in the Variety Bash, and look forward to meeting all the Rookies on this year’s event in the hope of making a few more!
