The Car Hogs adventure commenced back in 2006 when Graham purchased a car and he, John Day and Dave Barrett participated in their first Bash, the QLD Bash. They went on to do two QLD Bashes and when Graham moved to Adelaide, a SA Bash.
When Dave stepped out Graham invited me to join John and himself in the National Bash to Alice Springs. On the way home from Alice to Mildura the body cracked seriously under the front wheel well and was beyond the repair stage. We managed to find another body in Mildura. After a fresh coat of paint a friend and I somehow managed to move ‘everything’ to the new body before the next Bash and ‘Hogs 2’ was born. What a steep learning curve that was! There were actually tears of joy when the motor started for the first time after months of work and learning.
The time has gone quickly and our enthusiasm is still strong. This Bash is my 9th; Graham has done 12 and John 9.
Noel ‘Swanny’ Swan has also Bashed with us and his ‘Hogs head’ is now one of his fondest possessions.
