Tell us about your team members

Peter Grigg: first Bashed in 1996. 2021 will be his 20th Bash. Peter is a Life Member of Variety and has happily filled many roles, NTVC Board member, NTVC Appeals Board member, Bash Chairman, Volunteer and Bash Clown (Patches @the Palmerston Shopping Centre) Ian Sinnett: 2021 will be Ian’s second Bash. Ian enjoyed his first bash experience so much that he has acquired a half ownership in a Bash vehicle that hopefully will be at the finishing line in 2021

Tell us about your first Bash….

My first Bash was in 1996 – Rock to Croc. I was a team member in the Chicago Mob with Geoff Goodrich. From this I was “hooked”. We sang, we partied, we scammed, schemed and planned our way from Uluru back to Darwin. I had heard of Variety but knew little about it, its aims and purpose. Becoming a Variety participant and supporter is one of the best decisions I have made in life, the cause and commitment of the charity to children, the friendships made along the way.

How many NT Bashes have you and your team mates each completed?

Peter completed his 20th NT Bash in 2021. He is honoured to share this milestone with a couple of “treasured” Bash mates, Duffy (Dodgy) and Bournie.

What do you love about the Variety NT Bash, what makes you keep returning to the Bash?

The cause and commitment of Variety in assisting local NT Kids and families. The camaraderie of bash friends. The outcomes delivered by Variety throughout the NT. The opportunity of travel and to share the journey with mates.

What is your Team story/history?

Our eventual plan is to run a vehicle/team in the theme of Mad Max. Ian and I are mates from the 1970’s and as this is just our second bash together, we are in the early process of writing our story. We began this 2 years ago as Camel Humpers with JDoyle and now we are creating a new history.

How did you pick your team name and theme?

Mad Max is just the perfect fit for a Bash Vehicle and a 1974 XB Falcon is the very vehicle used in the movie. What better theme is there than to have a couple of Bush Patrol Officers to keep the bashers in line. Bribe scheme and scam is our motto and at every chance we get.
