The Overtakers
Vehicle: Ford Stretch 1981 (Hearse)
Col was introduced to Variety and the Bash in 2015, getting an invitation to join Sav McGill in VC1 and was immediately a Variety person. When Peter Howell, a veteran of 21 Bashes announced Car 351 was available for his ‘Swan Song’ in 2016, it didn’t take much persuasion to recruit Damo Harris. Car 351 was stickered up and the Dodgy Brothers were away, selling high quality items like Rolex’s, fashion brand sunglasses and plenty more. The Dodgy Brothers have gone into retirement in 2017 and unfortunately, all the guarantees have to be voided (but that was in the fine print anyway).
With the Dodgy Brothers in hiding and Grumpy Howelly retiring, Damo and Col recruited their Virgin, Davo Broughton and with some help from Rambo the boys purchased a beautiful 1982 Stretch for 2017. This stretch is very unique and Car SKET spent its working life chauffeuring around very, very special clients! Car SKET, originally from Victoria has spent many months in compliance, getting over the SA pits and getting Bash-ready at Davo’s OG Mechanical workshop and we are fairly confident we won’t need to call on the MW’s too often – well hopefully!
These boys are absolutely DIEING to get on the tracks. They will have some refreshments for all along the way and they hope you stop in and say hello to them. They are reliable, and will always be there in your time of need, sympathetic through tough ‘Bash’ times and there’s plenty of room in our stretch if you feel like a little snooze and a lay down. The Overtakers, in Car SKET are truly, the last guys to let you down.
We’d like to thank all our generous sponsors, without you this wouldn’t be possible, and our fellow Bashers and all that attended our fundraisers…
Please keep an eye out for our Facebook page Variety SA Car SKET. Oh and Sav, we will keep well away from your Bash Bible, we promise!
