Variety NSW Bash 2024
Variety NSW Bash is happening Sunday 19 - Saturday 25 May 2024!
The Variety NSW Bash is a weeklong adventure with 300 new mates, exploring the dirt roads of NSW and the ACT. Along the way we visit some beautiful country towns, see parts of Australia you wouldn’t otherwise visit, and the best bit is supporting kids to get a fair go.
We visit schools along the way and donate much-needed items and equipment so you can see how your hard work and fundraising is making a difference.

How to Get Involved
For over 47 years, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT has helped make sure all kids have the same opportunities in life. No matter what life throws at them. No matter what their ability. Each year, thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, turn to Variety for practical support when they need it most. Our work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. We make sure the kids who miss out, can always join in. Variety does this through granting equipment, supplies, and therapy to individuals and community organisations; running programs to educate & empower kids; scholarships to encourage the talents of kids in need and holding events to engage & bring joy.
What does it take to be a Basher?
Entries will be accepted at the absolute discretion of the Senior Motoring Events Manager.
All entrants must be over 18 years of age.
At all times, all entrants must abide by the rules of the road as prescribed by State laws and statutes.
Code of Conduct and Indemnity Forms of Agreement must be agreed to by all crew members.
A sense of humour and a tolerance to dust would be a plus for any Basher!
Learn moreWhat is a Variety Bash car?
All vehicles entered in the Bash must have been manufactured 25 years or more before the Bash. This excludes those bringing a 4WD which will need to be 30 years or more. They must be roadworthy, registered and insured as prescribed by State laws. Struggling to find a car which hits requirements? You could apply to bring a more modern 4WD, simply reach out to the motoring events team and we can help.

Entrants must book their own accommodation. There are a range of accommodation styles to suit everyone’s tastes and budgets. In some towns accommodation is limited and availability is not guaranteed. If you have difficulty booking in any towns, please contact the Variety Newcastle office.

Entrants, fondly known as ‘Bashers’ must raise a minimum of $4,000 per car for Variety – the Children’s Charity to enter the Variety Bash. The Bash is a celebration of a year’s fundraising to help kids in need. Bashers get to see the direct impact of their fundraising efforts along the way, with a range of educational, health and mobility equipment provided to local schools and organisations enroute.

‘Bashers’ must fundraise or donate a minimum of $4,000 per car to enter the Variety NSW Bash. This is for an entry fee for one car and up to four (4) people.
A $500 non-refundable donation is required on entry to secure your place.

How to Donate
There are several methods in which you can donate to a Bash Car. If you have any queries regarding donations please contact the office on 02 4965 4911 we can arrange invoices if required and all donations received will have receipts generated.
If you would like to donate to a mate via Credit Card or PayPal you can do so here! For details on how to make a donation via Direct Deposit or Cheque read this form.
