Variety NT Buslink VIVO Bash 2016 is Kimberley bound
This year Variety the Children’s Charity, Northern Territory (Variety NT) celebrates 25 years of supporting Territory children. Our Bash will be an action filled seven day adventure through the Kimberley with a convoy of colourful classic cars like no other. This expedition takes place from 3-10 September . It begins in Broome, heading north to Cape Leveque and then winding it’s way across the Kimberley to Kununurra and Lake Argyle.
Around 110 Bash participants and support crew will come together in Broome on Saturday, 3rd September to start the 1900km journey discovering pristine shores, stunning sunsets, rugged escarpments, and more of the Kimberley’s most breath-taking scenery. This is no ordinary journey – the Variety Bash is the culmination of some serious year long fund raising efforts by Bash teams to support Territory kids in need to live, laugh and learn. The Variety NT Bash will visit at least 5 schools along the way, entertaining students and sharing the Variety message as well as gifting a range of practical items to support student needs. School visits planned:
Broome Senior High School – Sunday 4/9
One Arm Point Remote Community School (Ardyloon) – Monday 5/9
Sacred Heart School (Beagle Bay) – Tuesday 6/9
Nyikina Mangala Community School (Jarlmadangah) – Wednesday 7/9
Wangkatjungka Remote Community School (Christmas Creek) – Thursday 8/9
The annual Variety Bash is Australia’s most successful charity motoring event, running in seven different States and Territories each year. It is the focal point of fund raising efforts for many hundreds of supporters of Variety. Funds raised in the NT stay here to support kids with ongoing illness, disability, disadvantage or special needs. The Variety Bash was started by Dick Smith back in 1985 and since then Variety the Children’s Charity has raised over $210 million dollars nationally so that kids can reach their potential and lead full and happy lives.
