We're going to Western Australia!

Register for the 2019 Variety Bash

What is the Variety Bash?

It’s the largest and longest running Australian charity motoring event! The Variety Bash is often imitated, but never bettered! It’s not a race or a rally, it’s a fun and social motoring event. In the words of the original “Basher” Dick Smith, it’s ‘a drive in the outback with a few mates’..

The Bash is a once in a lifetime chance to experience remote and regional parts of Australia that you might not otherwise see, all in support of Variety – the Children’s Charity.

Throughout the Bash, entrants get to visit local towns, stopping into schools and organisations to visit the kids. Bashers get to see the direct impact of their fundraising efforts along the way, with a range of educational, health and mobility equipment provided to local schools and organisations en route.

The event is all about having fun in support of Aussie kids. There are always festivities along the way, from fancy dress nights to entertainment, awards and other activities and games on the road.

The 2018 Variety Vic Bash Wrap

Fun, frivolity and fundraising!

On 23 August 2018, a 300-strong group departed Geelong bound for Townsville. The first two days of the event saw Variety give out over $120,000 worth of grants to schools, organisations and families who needed a helping hand.

Entrants were treated to spectacular scenery and got up to lots of mischief along the way. In a one-off surprise, the VIC, QLD and NT Bash events combined, seeing over 500 entrants and over 200 cars descend upon Townsville!

The best bit? The 2018 Variety Vic Bash announced a whopping $1.62 million was raised to help give Aussie kids a fair go!

What do I need to take part?

A spirit of adventure and a good sense of fun! In keeping with the spirit of the event, your Variety Bash Car has to be at least 30 years young!
