Mick first heard about the Postie Bike Dash on the radio and though it sounded crazy but let’s give it a go. The first year on the Postie Bike Dash in 2014 saw Mick and his eldest son, Ethan come along and share the riding. The following year they added another bike to the family and along came Mick’s youngest son, Hayden, having just turned 18.
“If you had asked me three years ago whether I would own a postie bike, let alone ride it for 1000km, I would have laughed at you. Now we own three.”
Kids are our future so helping less fortunate kids works for us. Also visiting the kids on the trip is a major part of seeing the result of what we set out to achieve.
Each rider must raise a minimum of $2,000, with funds raised supporting local children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs. Riders see the benefit of their fundraising first hand with equipment donated to schools en route.
