Living with Cerebral Palsy, Steven is a resilient and determined individual eager to learn and engage fully in educational experiences.
Steven urgently needed a mobility scooter to get around school; to give him independence but also help ensure he wouldn’t miss out on all the social activities school has to offer kids his age.
A scooter could also assist with fatigue and keep Steven safe–but his family were not able to access NDIS support.
Steven’s school reached out to Variety Queensland, and we were able to provide a grant for a mobility scooter tailored to Steven’s needs.
His inclusion Teacher Nikki shares, “I wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for visiting our school today and presenting the mobility scooter to support our student, Steven. Your generosity and thoughtfulness have made a meaningful difference in his life. “
Although Steven is quite shy, he was absolutely thrilled and truly overwhelmed when he received it.
It was a moment of joy and surprise that we will all remember, and it’s wonderful to see how much this will positively impact on his daily experiences at school.
