Did you know that Variety has had a long-standing and amazing partnership with Miss World Australia? As a part of their ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project, many of the contestants from Miss World Australia go above and beyond to support Variety and kids in need.
In the lead up to the Queensland State Finals for Miss World Australia, a number of the contestants dedicated their time and efforts to organizing various fundraising events, all aimed at creating the most impact possible for Variety kids. From charity walks that brought communities together to dazzling dinner functions that combined glamour with philanthropy, the contestants have embraced their role as ambassadors for change.
The charity walk event was hosted by Tharshiniy Subramaniam at a local park and included a potluck initative to raise even more funds. Through this Tharshiniy raised approximately $800. Another contest, Gabriella (Ellie) Oxley, raised over $600 selling clothes at the HER Wardrobe Market. The funds generated from these events will contribute to Variety’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability.

Among all the exceptional contestants, one shining star stands out. Janvi Makanjee has not only demonstrated an outstanding fundraising effort but also secured a well-deserved spot as a Miss World Australia Queensland State Finalist. Janvi’s incredible commitment has made her this year’s top national fundraiser, having raised an impressive sum of over $19,966. Her dedication serves as an inspiration to others, reminding us all of the power of individual action and the collective impact it can have.

However, Variety is grateful for the fundraising efforts of all the Miss World Australia participants, which have all played a crucial role in advancing Variety’s mission. Through their creativity, enthusiasm, and determination, these young women have helped raise awareness and funds that will directly benefit kids and families in need. They have exemplified the true meaning of beauty, not just in their physical appearance but also in their compassionate hearts and determination to make a positive impact.
