The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will provide more than $22 billion in funding a year to an estimated 500,000 Australians who have permanent and significant disability. For many people, it will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

The NDIS can provide all people with disability with information and connections to services in their communities such as doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.

Before you apply for a grant from Variety, we would encourage you to apply for the required equipment or service for your child through the NDIS. This can be done by contacting your NDIS contact directly.

If the required equipment or service is not covered under your NDIS plan, you will be asked during the Variety grant application process to provide detail and supporting documents about this.

If your child has not accessed the NDIS yet and you think they may be eligible, please click here to find out more about eligibility.

Please click here to visit the NDIS website for further information.

If you need additional support with understanding, creating, implementing or reviewing your child’s NDIS Plan, we recommend that you contact your Local Area Coordinator.
