The Variety Motor Mouth Program is a three-day and two-night camp that has been created to assist children who have complex communication needs and use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) aids to express themselves.
First held in Hobart in 2022, the camp is designed to support children who use these communication systems, often called Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, and their families to attend together.
AAC is used during all activities at camp, encouraging the child and their family to fully embrace their AAC system and to incorporate it into their everyday life.

Dates: Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th of October (term three school holidays)
Location: The Lea, Kingston

We would love for as many Tasmanian families as possible to experience the joys of the Variety Motor Mouth Camp. As you can appreciate, our selection committee will be prioritising families that have not yet attended a Motor Mouth Camp.

Volunteering at camp is a great professional development opportunity, with the chance to work with children with complex communication needs and their families.
You will have the chance to further your knowledge and experience in the area of AAC.
