Our motivation

Foundation 33 is a local philanthropic group comprising members of staff from St Luke’s Health. Foundation 33 chose us as their charity of choice and has come up with some fantastic innovative ways to raise funds to assist Tassie children in need. From an annual cocktail party to selling fruit donated by a local grocer within their Launceston branch, each and every fundraising initiative has helped to enhance the lives of children living in our community.

Recently we were extremely lucky to receive a cheque from Foundation 33 that was used to purchase an iPad for nine year old Taleisha from Hadspen. Given that Taleisha lives with vision and hearing impairment and often finds communicating with her family and friends a bit of a challenge, the iPad has opened up a whole new world for this bubbly little girl. Since being presented with her iPad, she has been able to listen to music and rhymes synced to visual shapes and movement on the screen, has worked with increased concentration and her school work has improved thanks to guided access to curriculum-based Apps.

“The GJ Gardner Variety Freedom House Project is something that is very special to us as a company, and to each and every one of our employees. However, it does not stop there – we partner with a large number of tradespeople, businesses within our local community to pull this project together. We absolutely love that we are able to have such a huge impact in kids in our community”.

Mike Allsop, Sales and Marketing Director GJ Gardner Homes NSW/ACT/WA.
