Getting your very first bike is a special moment in childhood that many of us may take for granted. Bikes give kids greater independence to get around within their local communities, share fun experiences with their friends and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle. Variety’s Bikes for Kids program aims to ensure that no child has to miss out on the joys and benefits of growing up with a bike.
Paul Quarrel and Harry Darke have donated ten bike packages as part of their 2022 Variety Bash fundraising. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to grant ten brand new bikes to ten deserving kids from Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation. All ten of these kids have been adversely affected by family mental illness and hardship.

We invited the families to our Variety office where we presented them with their new bikes. The kids couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces when they got to try out their new bikes for the first time. Thank you for helping us create this special moment for these families. Your support of Variety means that more kids in need can now experience the fun times with friends and the fitness that having a bike can bring.
