A fleet of dedicated volunteers rolled up their sleeves last Thursday to pack Variety Christmas Joy Packs for kids in need, made possible thanks to generous donors and supporters.
For many children, their gift from Variety will be the only one they receive this Christmas. Each Joy Pack was thoughtfully put together by Variety volunteers, choosing a mix of age-appropriate toys, books, games, craft activities and DVDS for each child.
In December, Variety usually hosts the famous Variety Kids Xmas Party which is a day of festivities and fun for over 4,000 children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs. Each child at the Variety Kids Xmas Party takes home a present of their own.
This year, the Variety Kids Xmas Party could not go ahead. Instead, Variety – the Children’s Charity put the call out to the public to donate what they could to help kids in need ‘UnBox Joy’ this Christmas.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, supporters and volunteers, hundreds of packs were put together before being delivered to the doorsteps of kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
