The Variety Adventure Ride is not about racing or a contest of speed. It’s an opportunity to explore the beautiful and remote Victorian High Country on your adventure motorbike, while raising funds for kids in need. For six adventure-packed days, ride your bike through the dirt roads it was designed for, all with the support of a full mechanical and medical crew.
We depart Jindabyne on Sunday 17 March 2024 and return on Friday 22 March 2024.

If you are always on the lookout to get your adventure bike out into the landscape it was designed for, then this is the adventure for you. This premium event has 6 days of adventure and 1,500 kms of epic countryside for you to explore.

On the Variety Adventure Ride, we have created a ride that you will really enjoy, taking you off the beaten track with an unforgettable mixture of scenery and challenging riding.
3) You’ll be ticking off some epic bucket list locations.
If you ever wanted to visit the Alpine National Park and Victorian High Country, then this is the ride for you. We take you to the iconic Craig’s Hut, then head south through the Avon Wilderness Park, along alpine ridges and down thrilling descents. After a mid-week rest afternoon in beautiful Lakes Entrance, we will head east through the Snowy River National Park to the NSW south coast before heading back to the Snowy Mountains finishing in Jindabyne.
4) We provide the support – you focus on the riding!
This year a crew of 20 support staff will be on hand every day to ensure you have a fun and safe week . The event provides a full support crew, including a baggage vehicle, medical and mechanical teams, so you can get the most out of the ride and have an incredible adventure.
5) Do what you love while raising funds for kids who need it most.
Our famous Motoring Events give participants the chance to explore places that aren’t always on the map and give thousands of dollars in grants to local schools and organisations for much needed equipment and resources. What we hear consistently from our participants is that they join for the adventure but stay for the cause – helping kids in need. During the Variety Adventure Ride you will experience firsthand the impact your fundraising can make on the lives of kids in rural and remote communities.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Over our 6 day adventure, you will traverse plenty of dirt tracks, as well as a few public roads to get us where we need to go.
To enter this event you need a roadworthy, registered Adventure Motorbike such as the BMW R 1250 G S, a Triumph Tiger, a Suzuki V-Strom or any other from the adventure touring motorcycle ranges.

Our work allows kids to gain mobility, to get active in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. We make sure the kids who miss out, can always join in.
In NSW alone there are almost 200,000 kids who are facing financial hardship or living with a disability. Variety is only able to do our important work thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, including those on the Variety Adventure Ride.

WHAT TO WEAR
You need to wear good riding gear, because weather conditions can vary drastically and unfortunately things don’t always go to plan. As with everything, you get what you pay for. Good riding gear is an investment, it should last you many years and having it should give you peace of mind.
Jacket and pants need to be comfortable and weatherproof with abrasion-resistant CE Approved soft armour inserts fitted in key areas (knee, hip, elbow, shoulder and back). Multiple ventilation zips help for when conditions are warmer. A fluoro vest will be supplied to everyone and this must be worn while riding on this event.
Boots should be purpose-built providing good shin and ankle protection and support.
Gloves you should always travel with two sets of gloves. One pair for colder or wet conditions, waterproof and with a built-in squeegee on the left index finger to easily wipe your helmet visor in the rain. Another set of lighter gloves is very handy for when conditions are warmer. These should still be strong and abrasion-resistant, they just don’t need to be as insulated and bulky.
Helmets should fit well, snug but not so tight it causes discomfort when worn for longer periods. You should have a tinted and clear visor, or the new flip-down tinted visor is a good solution for varying light conditions. An anti-fog insert or treatment is a great idea also. Open face helmets are not acceptable on this event.
