Emmagen's Story

Emmagen from Northern NSW is a very talented singer who has achieved so much despite her young age. She loves singing to large audiences and has dreams of becoming a world famous artist.

Emmagen was born with a cystic mass or Congenital Cystic Adematoid Malformation in her right lung and underwent a lung dissection at 8 months old. She now has 75% lung capacity and manages chronic asthma, so singing is both a great benefit and a passion in her life.

Born to sing, her mother can remember at 2 years of age Emmagen singing nursery rhymes in the car; and being so in tune. Little did Emmagen’s family know then how her singing would have such a huge impact on their lives.

At 12 years old Emmagen was crowned the Junior World Champion of the WKT World Singing Championship in Las Vegas and is still the reigning champion.

In 2018 Emmagen was the winner of the Peoples Choice award at the Tamworth Country Musical Festival Busking Championship, selected from 500 buskers. She was also the winner of Channel 9’s The Voice Competition on the Gold Coast and was a Junior Academy of Country Music graduate.

The following year she wrote and recorded two songs at the Blackbird Studio in Nashville, USA.

Last year Emmagen released her debut single ‘City Lights Call’ through ABC Music. The track debuted at #1 on the Triple J Unearthed chart staying there for two consecutive weeks and was a top 10 hit on Australian Country Radio. She was also on Team Delta on ‘The Voice’ making history as the youngest ever contestant worldwide. Recently she released her new single “Karaoke Song” accompanied with a fun and vibey music video.

As you can imagine, it has been incredibly challenging for Emmagen’s family to meet the extensive costs that are required for Emmagen’s musical career. She has had so many amazing opportunities and they always want to support her the best they can, which is why they reached out to Variety for help in 2019.
