Help Bring Joy to WA kids in Crisis

Each Variety Toy Bank event is more than just a glamorous day out, it’s a powerful way to bring joy and hope to children escaping domestic violence and hardship.

Guests are kindly asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy, with a minimum value of $20.00 to donate. These toys are delivered to the Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services, then distributed to over 40 women’s refuges across WA.

Each toy becomes a message of care and comfort, reminding a child that they are seen, valued, and not alone during a difficult time.

We’re excited to present the 2025 Toy Bank Lunch, our highly anticipated comeback event on Friday, 3 October, at The Kingsman, an exclusive open air pop up venue in the heart of the city, located corner of Riverside Drive and Governors Avenue, Perth.

Riverside Drive, Perth. Join us from 12pm–3pm for a purposeful afternoon.

About our Toy Bank Event

In 1994, Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA, received a heartfelt request to provide toys to children taking refuge in shelters. What began as a small gesture of kindness has since grown into one of Perth’s most anticipated charity events.

Founded by the late Holly Wood, the Toy Bank legacy continues with two sell out events annually, raising funds and awareness while directly supporting kids in crisis.

Guests can expect:

  • Heartfelt storytelling from survivors and recipients in a respectful, inclusive setting
  • A warm, social atmosphere with opportunities to connect
  • Raffles, auctions, and entertainment that add to the joy of giving

All proceeds go towards Variety WA programs that help children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability to live, laugh and learn.

Variety Toy Bank would not be able to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged children without the generous support of local businesses and individuals.

Not sure what to bring? Here are some meaningful and practical gift suggestions:

  • Store vouchers – Especially helpful for regional areas
  • Musical instruments – Think xylophones or small drums
  • Gifts for teens – iTunes vouchers, self-care kits, or journals
  • Sporting equipment – Balls, skipping ropes, or team gear
  • Protective Behaviours hand puppetsprotectivebehaviourswa.org.au
