Variety Kids' Experiences

The Variety in Action committee organise a range of experiences for kids aged 5 – 18 years in South Australia, with funding from Variety – the Children’s Charity. This volunteer group come together to give their time, expertise and love in helping to bring a smile to the face of South Australia’s kids in need.

Each year, Variety SA enriches the lives of thousands of children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability through wonderful, entertaining and educational experiences. Variety kids’ experiences offer children an opportunity to be a part of activities and events that due to disability or financial hardship, they otherwise would not be able to experience.

Please note: Variety SA constantly review the program of unique experiences we offer kids in need in our state to maximise the fun to be had and expand the impact on more kids in our community. Given Variety already offers kids an annual Christmas Party as well as an Easter Picnic, the decision has been made to redirect the generous fundraising dollars and volunteer hours from the Surprise Party to a range of new experiences we know the kids will really enjoy.

Every year Variety hosts the Variety Kids’ Christmas Party in Port Lincoln. The event intends to bring joy and Christmas spirit to local children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability along with their carers.

Register to Perform at Variety Kids’ Experiences

Attention: Bands, face painters, Musical acts i.e. DJ, Temporary Tattooist, Ballonist, Bubble Artist, Children’s Characters, Puppet Show, Mimes or other kids entertainers.

Each year, Variety enriches the lives of thousands of kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability through wonderful, entertaining and educational experiences. Variety Kids’ Experiences offer kids an opportunity to be a part of activities and events that due to disability or financial hardship, they otherwise would not be able to experience.

The Variety in Action committee is responsible for the organisation of such activities.

The Committee is seeking expressions of interest from potential providers of the following services that may be used at various Children’s functions throughout the year in the Adelaide CBD during School Hours.

We are also interested in what acts are available in regional South Australia.

As you are volunteering with children, we ask all volunteers to provide a valid working with children check.

If you are an existing Variety volunteer with a valid working with children check, please provide your reference number by email to [email protected]

Volunteer to Assist

If you do not have a Working with Children Check you can apply for one via Department of Human Services website here or you may find their FAQ page helpful. Please Note: if you enter that your role is a volunteer position there will be no charge.

Corporate Volunteers

In recent times, with companies and corporations focussing on corporate social responsibility, we have been overwhelmed with requests for their staff to volunteer, and we have had to put a structure around our volunteering opportunities for corporates.

To be eligible for staff volunteering opportunities, Variety offers a Business Partnership that includes volunteering for up to 20 staff members, along with many other benefits.
